Are you a student with scientific sensibilities? A young person with a passion for plants? Or a teenager who is curious about conservation?
Applications for Earthwise: Kew's new, week-long summer programme are now open. They are looking for dedicated young people, between 14 and 17 years old, who are interested in learning more about the natural world, our place within it, and how science can help us answer some of our planet's most pressing questions.
Taking place in the iconic surroundings of Kew Gardens and Wakehurst, Earthwise is a programme designed to deepen understanding of, and connection to, our natural world. It is a practical week of outdoor learning, where participants will have the opportunity to conduct their own scientific research, using the gardens of Kew and Wakehurst as ‘living laboratories’ through which to explore key questions in biodiversity science and conservation.
Participants will hear from Kew researchers and scientists, develop their understanding of environmental science through practical field- skills workshops, and, importantly, have plenty of fun in the process. The deadline for applications is Friday 27 May 2022.
