Climate change is ever present in the news, and the UK is set to host a global climate conference in November. However, the science is complex and climate impacts and solutions can be motivated by many different interests. Have you ever wondered how you could use your voice to be part of the solution?
In this weekend of free workshops led by NHM and the Speakers Trust we will engage in interactive activities to explore the scientific evidence for climate change, its social and personal impacts, and possible solutions. Looking to better understand what are the facts, who can really make a difference, and how?
This opportunity is open to young people aged 15-25. You must be available on both;
Saturday 21st August 10am – 4pm
Sunday 22nd August 10am – 4pm

Then join scientists from the Natural History Museum on Thursday 26th August for a free hands-on one-day event exploring the Darwin’s Tree of Life project and the wider process and benefits of DNA sequencing.
This informal day will give you the opportunity to get hands-on experience in the processes involved in DNA science: from collecting samples in our Wildlife Garden, DNA extraction and sequencing, to a light-touch look at how the data is helping us to better understand and protect the urban nature found on our doorsteps.
You do not need previous experience in science to take part!
Lunch and refreshments provided and travel costs can be reimbursed if this may be a barrier to engaging.

The Final deadline for applications is 8pm on Monday 16th August 2021.
We will start assessing applications from the Early Bird Deadline, so applying before the Early Bird deadline means:
• We can get back to you sooner which could mean being programmed earlier, meaning more lead-in time for you and your show.
• It gives us a much greater chance of being able to see your show if it’s on elsewhere.
• You’ll be eligible for our Programming Awards
Applications received after the final deadline are unlikely to be considered or programmed.
