The Saatchi Gallery is committed to rendering contemporary art accessible to all. But art galleries can be intimidating spaces. Partnering with City Lions enables us to break down invisible barriers and reach young people who might not ordinarily engage with us, revealing to them possibilities of artistic expression and encouraging new ways of thinking. Through both in-person visits and virtual sessions and workshops we run with City Lions for the Holiday Programme, we aim to provide a way into contemporary art. We share the ambition of City Lions to allow young people to own the culture available to them and for it to open their eyes to future possibilities for study or employment in the sector. Working with City Lions allows the Saatchi Gallery to provide young people with access and exposure today which may set them on a path to becoming the artists and creatives of tomorrow.
