Events Leadership Team

Ever wanted to plan an exciting event? Think you’ve got the skills to bring people together? Want to learn how to manage a budget and lead your own project? This opportunity is for you!

We’re looking for young people aged 15-18 who live or attend school in Westminster to co-create, manage, and deliver events for young people. By joining our team, you’ll:

  • Build confidence and develop leadership skills
  • Gain new creative & practical skills (perfect for your CV!)
  • Connect with creative & event professionals for future job opportunities
  • Attend weekly planning meetings, rotating between in-person and online sessions

To kick off the programme, we’ll be planning two major events in September! You can choose to work on one or both:

Event 1: Magna Carta 1225 Late Event

In partnership with the Society of Antiquaries, we’ll create a Late Event inspired by the Magna Carta 1225 exhibition. Young people will gain hands-on experience in event planning, budget management, entertainment curation, and artist booking. The event will welcome up to 200 guests, bringing new audiences into the space.

Training Programme Includes:

  • Intro to Society of Antiquaries: 17th July 4:30-6:30pm
  • 4x Training & Planning Days: Forest walk, creative workshops, and VIP exhibition activities (11th, 12th, 18th, 19th August)
  • Event Briefing: Online, early September
  • Event Delivery: Burlington House, 12th September (5pm–8pm)
  • Celebration Event: Burlington House, 24th September (4:30pm–6:30pm)

Event 2: North Paddington Canalside Festival

In collaboration with Westminster Council’s Place Shaping team, we’ll help shape an inspiring community festival along the Grand Union Canal that brings people together through arts, nature, and water sports. You will help curate the community-led events, as well as designing and leading an interactive activity on the finale weekend of the festival (Saturday 27th September).

This is your chance to showcase your creativity and make a lasting impact on your local environment while contributing to the festival’s mission of building local connections to the canal through raising awareness, ownership, and joy.

Training programme includes:

  • Intro to Westminster Council's Place Shaping team (July 2025)
  • Event Briefing (July 2025)
  • Planning Days (In person & Online sessions: July 2025)
  • Event Delivery: Saturday 27th September, North Paddington Canalside
