10 young people from Westminster who signed up to City Lions, received the chance to attend the premiere screening of the new animated film from Warner Bros, Smallfoot, which took place on Sunday 7th October in Leicester Square.
City Lions, is a new programme for young Westminster residents, aged 13-16, connecting them to the cultural and creative opportunities and meaningful experiences of work with organisations based in the borough.
“I felt as though I was on a red carpet and it was like a dream. It was loads of fun I’m going to remember it forever,” said Carmen, who attended the premiere.
As part of the visit, the young people who signed up to the City Lions programme via the Avenues Youth Club along with some of their siblings, received the exclusive chance to attend the premiere and meet Director Karey Kirkpatrick, also known for creating films Over the Hedge, Chicken Run, James and the Giant Peach.
“I didn’t realise that so much work went into the making of the movie… 3 years making it in Canada and now we were the first kids to see it in Westminster … WOW!!” , added Mia, another young attendee.
A big thank to Warner Bros. who provided our City Lions participants with the opportunity.
“It was great and we were treated like stars, I’ve never been to a cinema like that before, when can I go again? said Kayyden, another young resident that attended the premiere.
